The C-N stretching band of methylamine

► We present for the first time the analysis and assignment of the C-N stretching band of the methylamine molecule. ► We find the source of perturbations in the C-N stretching band. ► There are two possible dark states: the fourth excited torsional state and the combination state. ► The global fit is performed using one state model and results are presented.
