► The submillimeter spectrum of methyl bromide has been measured up to 1.2 THz. ► Rotational transitions of the ground state are assigned for four isotopologues. ► A combined analysis of all methyl bromide ground state rotational data is presented. ► Rotational transitions of the ν3 state are assigned for four isotopologues.
