Philicity based site activation model towards understanding the Markovnikov regioselectivity rule

In this article, a philicity based site activation model for the Markovnikov regioselectivity rule is proposed. Electrophilic addition of HCl to a series of asymmetric alkenes is studied to demonstrate the efficacy of this model.
