Enhancing the central-transition NMR signal of quadrupolar nuclei by spin population transfer using SW-FAM pulse trains with a tangent-shaped sweep profile

► NMR of quadrupolar nuclei I>1/2 often limited to the central transition (CT). ► Spin population transfer (SPT) from satellite transitions enhances CT signals. ► New SW-FAM pulse train with tangent-shaped sweep is suggested for static spectra. ► Performance of SW(tan)-FAM validated for 27Al-NMR by experiment and simulations.
