Residual stress and diffraction line-broadening analysis of Al2O3/Y-TZP ceramic composites by neutron diffraction measurement

By using time-of-flight neutron diffraction and Rietveld analysis method, through-thickness residual stress profiles in Al2O3/Y-TZP ceramic composites were determined for different hkl reflections for both alumina and zirconia phases. Peak broadening was observed in Y-TZP phase, and the non-uniform microstrains were analyzed.188
