Carbon impregnated Li2FeP2O7 composite was prepared by spray pyrolysis and followed annealing process. The physical and electrochemical properties of prepared samples were investigated. Citric acid was added to the precursor solution as a carbon source for preparing the carbon impregnated Li2FeP2O7 composite. X-ray diffraction study identified the phase transformation according to operation temperature and added amount of the carbon source. Cross-sectional morphology observation by SEM with EDS defined layer like carbon distribution in particles. The electrochemical properties of carbon impregnated Li2FeP2O7 were evaluated by comparing with a further carbon-coated sample. Despite the relatively less carbon content due to synthesis restriction, it demonstrated similar rate capability with the further carbon coated Li2FeP2O7. Moreover, the carbon impregnated Li2FeP2O7 prepared by spray pyrolysis and conventional ball milling process achieved similar capacity while charge current density was different at discharge current rate of 1Â C as well as excellent electrochemical performance.
