Interleukine-7Â : une thérapeutique prometteuse de la LEMP dans certaines lymphopénies. Rapport de cas et revue de la littérature

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is an opportunistic disease with high mortality. It is caused by an infection of the central nervous system by JC virus in cases with lymphopenia. There is no specific medication with well-proven efficacy, but a number of treatments are currently under investigation. We report the case of a woman diagnosed with PML after autogenic bone marrow transplantation for Hodgkin disease. A treatment with interleukin-7 was started four months after the first symptoms. The clinical status and MRI findings improved confirming the usefulness of interleukin-7 in this disease. Former cases of PML treated with interleukin-7 are reported and compared.
