Degradation of naproxen by UV, VUV photolysis and their combination

- The efficiency of the methods increased in the following order: UV < VUV  < UV/VUV.
- The degradation inhibiting effect of dissolved O2 increased in the order: UV < UV/VUV < VUV.
- In absence of dissolved O2 the radical pathway dominates during the UV/VUV photolysis.
- In presence of dissolved O2 some synergistic effect of UV and VUV lights occurs.
- VUV irradiation results in complete mineralization of NAP.
