Adsorptional photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue onto pectin-CuS nanocomposite under solar light

► Pectin-CuS nanocomposite was synthesized by co-precipitation method. ► Its photocatalytic behavior was compared with CuS nanoparticles. ► The effect of adsorption on photodegradation was investigated for dye. ► Simultaneous adsorption and photodegradation is more effective for dye removal. ► Pectin-CuS nanocomposite showed higher recycle efficiency.
