Synthetic LXR agonist T0901317 attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury in rats

► Levels of LXRs expression were decreased in the lung tissues of rats with ALI. ► Activation of LXRs by the synthetic agonist T0901317 ameliorates lung histopathologic damage. ► T0901317 also suppresses lung inflammatory responses and inhibits neutrophil transmigration. ► This is linked to inhibiting NF-κB activation and decreasing ICAM-1gene expression.
