Antiallergic effect of KOB03, a polyherbal medicine, on mast cell-mediated allergic responses in ovalbumin-induced allergic rhinitis mouse and human mast cells

► Extraction of KOB03 consisting of 5 different herbs and analysis of standard compound from KOB03 by HPLC analysis. ► Anti-allergic effects proven by allergic/inflammatory mediator release, symptom score, histopathology and signal pathway analysis in ovalbumin-induced allergic mouse and human mast cells. ► The working mechanism is suggested based on the in vitro experimental results by analyzing anti-allergic/inflammatory gene expressions via blocking of the ERK1/2 MAPK/NF-kappaB pathway.
