Metabolomic profiling of the flower bud and rachis of Tussilago farfara with antitussive and expectorant effects on mice

The flower buds are used for the treatment of cough, bronchitis and asthmatic disorders in TCM. Adulteration with rachis is frequently encountered. Antitussive and expectorant activities were compared and the chemical differences were determined.
