Ex vivo and in vivo effect of Chinese herbal pill Yi Shen Juan Bi (YJB) on experimental arthritis

The active components of YJB down regulates TNF-α, IL-1, NO and Bcl-2 expression while up-regulating the Bax and caspase-3 expression, leading to triggered apoptosis cascade, which results in enhanced apoptosis in the RA synovium and potentially limiting the disease.
