Central nervous system damage due to acute paraquat poisoning: A neuroimaging study with 3.0Â T MRI

► We report CNS neuroimaging changes in patients with acute paraquat poisoning. ► We confirm the presence of acute paraquat neurotoxicity by MRI. ► We observed no intracranial hemorrhage in the acute stage by SWI. ► Paraquat poisoning survivors show changes consistent with increased iron deposition in the brain. ► Acute paraquat poisoning produces microstructural changes in the brain of survivors.
