Assessing the risk of Legionnaires' disease: The inhalation exposure model and the estimated risk in residential bathrooms

► Quantitative health risk assessment as modeled in residential bathrooms was examined. ► The estimated risks corresponded to risk areas calculated from actual outbreaks. ► Infection risk per year in 10 CFU/100 ml were approximately 10−2. ► Mortality risk per year in 10 CFU/100 ml were approximately 10−5. ► Legionella level should be maintained as low as reasonably achievable (<1 CFU/L).
