Peptide reactivity assay using spectrophotometric method for high-throughput screening of skin sensitization potential of chemical haptens

► We developed a spectrophotometric lysine-containing peptide reactivity assay. ► Fluorescamine was used as a detecting reagent for free amine group of lysine. ► We also executed the spectrophotometric cysteine-containing peptide reactivity assay. ► The combination of two methods resulted in a higher predictability of sensitizers. ► With further improvements, this method can be used as an alternative test method.
