Toxicity evaluation of CdTe quantum dots with different size on Escherichia coli

► The metabolic power-time curves of CdTe QDs on Escherichia coli was studied. ► The functional group changes was studied. ► The QDs has a strong inhibition on the growth of E. coli. ► The effect might due to the damaged structure of the cell out membrane.
