Polymorphism of rotavirus genotype G1 in Brazil: In silico analysis of variant strains circulating in Rio de Janeiro from 1996 to 2004

► In this study we demonstrated the polymorphism of rotavirus genotype G1 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. ► Analysis of the VP7 structures showed mutations at neutralizing antibody recognition sites. ► We discuss the possible implication of these mutations on the efficiency of the rotavirus vaccine.
