Mycoplasma genitalium: A comparative genomics study of metabolic pathways for the identification of drug and vaccine targets

► Identification of therapeutic targets was performed for Mycoplasma genitalium. ► Total proteome of pathogen and human host was compared using comparative genomics. ► Non-homologous essential proteins of the pathogen were screened. ► Sixty seven proteins were identified as novel drug and vaccine targets. ► Drug prioritization parameters were calculated for each therapeutic target.
