Factors affecting the physicochemical properties of the modified core/shell NH2-SiO2@NZVI nanoparticles

- The amino groups were grafted onto the surfaces of silica coated iron nanoparticles.
- The modified nFe0 showed a facile dispersibility with uniform core/shell structure.
- The preparation process was analyzed for the formation of desirable NH2-SiO2@NZVI.
- NH2-SiO2@NZVI showed an enhanced reducing ability with the removal of 2,4,6-TCP.
