Effect of Enteromorpha polysaccharides on coagulation performance and kinetics for dye removal

- Fouling green algae-Ep was reused with the aim of “treating waste with waste”.
- A new kind of coagulant aid-Ep was found and applied in dye wastewater treatment.
- Color removal was enhanced by AS-Ep, which performed better than AS.
- Floc produced by AS-Ep exhibited larger size, faster growth rate and open structure.
- Floc strength and recovery ability were significantly improved when Ep was used.
