Trigonal pyramidal CuInSe2 nanocryastals derived by a new method for photovoltaic applications

► CuInSe2 nanocrystals have been prepared by a two-step method. ► The products are with trigonal pyramidal shape and their size can been controlled. ► Energy conversion efficiency of hybrid cell has been remarkably improved. ► The reasons of great improvement of efficiency have been explored.
