Silicon-compound coating for preparation of water repellent cotton fabric by admicellar polymerization

► Silicon coatings were applied to cotton fabric by admicellar polymerization. ► Water repellency with the smaller monomer methacryloxymethyltrimethylsilane was superior to that of the larger monomer methacryloxypropylpentamethyldisiloxane. ► Static contact angles of 110-120° were obtained.
