Antibacterial activity against Porphyromonas gingivalis and biological characteristics of antibacterial stainless steel

► A type 304 Cu bearing antibacterial stainless steel was prepared to reduce the incidence of implant-related infections. ► The changes in both the morphology and the amount of P. gingivalis on the steel surface were detected. ► The antibacterial stainless steel showed excellent antibacterial property and no cytotoxicity on both MG63 and KB cells.
