Preparation of novel magnetic fluorescent nanoparticles using amino acids

► Florescent magnetite nanoparticles were synthesised by a simple two-step process. ► Amino acids were used as novel linkers between magnetic core and FITC. ► Amino acid coating had no significant impact on the nanoparticle characteristics.
