Interaction of local and general anaesthetics with liposomal membrane models: A QCM-D and DSC study

► Solid supported liposome layers (SSLLs) are used as model membranes. ► SSLLs seem to be less affected by the anaesthetics than liposomes in solution. ► Cholesterol increases the liposomes resistance to anaesthetics in different ways. ► QCM-D technique is adequate to asses the interaction of anaesthetics with SSLLs.
