A critical and descriptive approach to interictal behavior with the Neurobehavior Inventory (NBI)

► Elevated NBI scores are observed in temporal lobe epilepsy. ► Depression influences NBI scoring, mainly emotionality and hyposexuality traits. ► NBI can be better interpreted with appropriate mood and anxiety evaluation. ► Patients with left temporal epilepsy showed increased sadness. ► Patients with right temporal pathology showed increased beliefs in personal destiny.
