Sleep apnea and epilepsy: Who's at risk?

► We studied OSA prevalence in adults with epilepsy using subjective tools and PSG. ► 30% had OSA and 16% had significant disease, rates exceeding healthy populations. ► OSA predictors included age, dental problems and standardized AED dose. ► Male gender, age, BMI, hypertension and dental problems predicted more severe OSA. ► Our results support routine OSA screening in adult epilepsy clinics.
