Abdominal auras in patients with mesial temporal sclerosis

► Abdominal auras (AA) were common in patients with mesial temporal sclerosis (MTS). ► AA did not lateralize the lesion; nor were they specific to pathology (vs. non-MTS, p = 0.439). ► However, AA with “rising sensation” appeared more specific to MTS (p = 0.004). ► An initially epigastric location favored a left-sided epileptogenicity (p = 0.018). ► AA with or without rising sensations did not predict postoperative seizure outcomes.
