Newer antiepileptic drugs in the treatment of status epilepticus: Impact on prognosis

► Newer AED are increasing used for SE treatment. ► Their impact on prognosis was assessed, adjusting for robust outcome predictors. ► Newer AED do not seem to improve SE prognosis. ► A prospective trial study to test newer vs. classical AEDF in SE is warranted.
