Assessment of the convulsant liability of antidepressants using zebrafish and mouse seizure models

► The convulsant liability of citalopram, reboxetine, and bupropion was studied. ► The pilocarpine and pentylenetetrazole mouse and zebrafish models were used. ► Depending on the test setting, both anti- and proconvulsant effects were observed. ► The different monoaminergic systems are similar with respect to their convulsant liability.
