Morningness and eveningness: When do patients take their antiepileptic drugs?

► 1/3 of epilepsy patients continue to have seizures despite adequate drug treatment. ► Chronotherapy could be a promising treatment option. ► We compared behavior of circadian types in relation to the times of taking drugs. ► Morning types take AEDs earlier than evening types on free and work days (mornings). ► Regardless of circadian type, drugs on free days are taken later than on work days.
