Long term outcome in children affected by absence epilepsy with onset before the age of three years

► Absence seizures with onset before the age of 3 years showed a good clinical outcome. ► Early-onset absence epilepsy had a cognitive outcome similar to that with a later onset. ► Early-onset absence epilepsy may be a subsyndrome of childhood absence epilepsy.
