Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibition reduces cerebral vasospasm following a subarachnoid hemorrhage injury in canines

► The activated mTOR protein was involved in vasospasm after SAH through the proliferation of VSMCs. ► The expressions of mTOR, P70S6K1 and 4E-BP1 were accompanied with PCAN in the basilar arteries. ► Both mTOR inhibitors attenuated angiographic vasospasm, improving appetite and activity scores.
