Neuroprotective effect of a cell-free extract derived from human adipose stem cells in experimental stroke models

► We study the effects of extracts of human adipose stem cells (hASCs-E) in stroke. ► hASCs-E elicits increased viability against oxygen/glucose deprivation in vitro. ► hASCs-E treatment reduces infarct or hemorrhage volume in various stroke models. ► hASCs-E downregulates the expression of genes related with cell-death. ► hASCs-E has a neuroprotective effect on animal models of stroke.
