Anatomic localization of O6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylated and unmethylated tumors: A radiographic study in 358 de novo human glioblastomas

► GBMs occur frequently near the posterior subventricular zone. ► MGMT promoter methylated GBMs are lateralized to the left hemisphere. ► MGMT promoter unmethylated GBMs are lateralized to the right hemisphere. ► GBMs near the left temporal lobe have a significantly longer overall survival. ► This effect is independent of MGMT status.
