Incidence of Japanese encephalitis, visceral leishmaniasis and malaria before and after the Wenchuan earthquake, in China

Japanese encephalitis cases distributed by seasons in Longnan City of Gansu Province of China in 2005-2011. In Longnan City, Japanese encephalitis mainly occurred from June to December, with most cases in July to September and a peak of incidence in August. The incidence in 2006 was significantly higher than other years (P < 0.01), whereas the incidence in 2011 was not significantly different compared with 2010, 2009 and 2008 (P ≥ 0.05).
