Morphometric and molecular differentiation of a Rhodnius robustus-like form from R. robustus Larousse, 1927 and R. prolixus Stal, 1859 (Hemiptera, Reduviidae)

► Colombian Rhodnius robustus-like was submitted to morphometric and molecular analysis. ► Wing shape of R. robustus-like was different from R. prolixus and R. robustus. ► Wing shape differences were corroborated by analysis of cytb and 28S D2 rRNA genes. ► Haplotype of R. robustus-like seems be the one found by Abad-Franch and Monteiro (2005). ► Wing shape differences may help the vector control of Chagas disease in Colombia.
