Systematic review of the adverse effects of cutaneous leishmaniasis treatment in the New World

► This review provides information regarding the safety of treatment of 4359 patients. ► Different therapeutic regimens with antimonials or pentamidine were employed. ► The profile of adverse effects were established. ► Mild adverse effects clinical, laboratory and ECG were frequent. ► We recommend monitoring of adverse effects at least 10 days during the treatment.
