Development and validation of a PCR-RFLP test to identify African Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) ticks

To overcome the cumbersome morphological identification of the four closely related Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) spp. in West Africa, a PCR-RFLP test was developed. The tool developed can be routinely applied for species identification.
