Immunodiagnosis of foot-and-mouth disease using mutated recombinant 3ABC polyprotein in a competitive ELISA

► Recombinant mutated nonstructural protein 3ABC and monoclonal antibody based competitive ELISA for FMD serosurveillance. ► Diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of 97.1% and 87% respectively as determined by ROC method. ► Higher diagnostic specificity than indirect ELISA. ► Common method for serum samples from all the species.
