Comparison of ELISA attachment and infectivity assays for murine norovirus

► MNV binds to porcine gastric mucin, similar to human noroviruses. ► Inactivation of heat-treated MNV correlated with a loss of attachment to porcine gastric mucin. ► High pressure, ozone and UV inactivated MNV resulted in no loss of attachment. ► Destruction of the viral capsid is necessary to observe viral attachment changes.
