Bacterial expression of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus nucleoprotein and its evaluation as a diagnostic reagent in an indirect ELISA

► There is a need for increased diagnostic capacity for CCHFV. ► The development of recombinant antigens would facilitate diagnosis and surveillance. ► A bacterially expressed CCHFV nucleoprotein was evaluated for detecting IgG antibody. ► The recombinant antigen detected anti-CCHFV IgG in human sera using ELISA.
