Identification of novel and cross-species seroreactive proteins from Bacillus anthracis using a ligation-independent cloning-based, SOS-inducible expression system

► We created a high-throughput expression clone set for Bacillus anthracis pXO1 and pXO2 plasmids. ► We adapted ligation-independent cloning technique for expression in low-oxygen conditions. ► Expression totals and quality was determined. ► Animal serum was used to identify 8 previously unidentified immunogenic proteins.
