Binding of group B streptococcal phosphoglycerate kinase to plasminogen and actin

► GBS-PGK was found on the GBS surface and secreted into the culture media. ► GBS-PGK was found to bind actin, fibronectin plasmin and plasminogen. ► GBS-PGK expressed in the HeLa cell cytoplasm resulted in cytoskeleton disruption. ► We conclude that GBS-PGK may contribute to GBS virulence.
