Coordinated and sequential transcription of the cyprinid herpesvirus-3 annotated genes

► All 156 ORFs of CyHV-3 are transcribed into RNAs. ► These transcripts are classified into three co-ordinately expressed groups, IE, E and L, similar to all other herpesviruses. ► Transcription of CyHV-3 genes commences soon after infection - earlier than 1 h post-infection (p.i.). ► Several ORFs belonging to these classes are allocated in clusters along the viral genome.
