Molecular detection and sequence analysis of feline Torque teno virus (TTV) in China

▶ Fecal samples and serum samples were collected from Chinese cats. TTV DNA was extracted from those samples and feline TTV was detected by nest PCR. ▶ Two isolates were detected and the complete genomic sequences of two feline TTV clones SH-F1 and SH-F2 were obtained. Phylogenetic analysis showed that SH-F1 and SH-F2 shared 92-97% nucleotide homology with the strains Fc-TTV4 and PRA4. ▶ This confirms that geographical variance does not exist among TTVs in infected cats.
