Validation of model-based optimization of brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) plant operation

► Previously published model-based optimization strategies were validated in an industrial RO plant. ► A 10% reduction in pump energy consumption was achieved when recovery increases from 80% to 90%. ► The saving in disposal cost is more than the one in pump energy consumption when recovery increases from 80% to 90%.
