► Early postnatal Kv1.3-null mice have a high density of mitral cells in the olfactory bulb. ► Enrichment with olfactory or trigeminal stimuli reduced mitral cell number. ► Mitral cell area is decreased with olfactory and increased with trigeminal stimulation.
