Gene-environment interactions between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) 677C>T and metabolic syndrome for the prevalence of ischemic stroke in Koreans

► We investigated the MTHFR 677C>T and metabolic syndrome (MS) in stroke patients. ► We find the prevalence of MS was significantly higher in stroke patients. ► The MTHFR 677TT were significantly higher in stroke with MS. ► MTHFR 677C>T may contribute to incidence of MS among ischemic stroke patients.
